The 1970s
The 70’s brought tighter money, smaller budgets and a gas shortage. The maxi replaced the mini. The wild creativity of the 60’s left clients wondering if it really swayed opinions and sold product. Everything had to be researched to be sure. It was an era that brought in “positioning” where your product was positioned against the competition. Film was beginning to be replaced by video and nearly all commercials were in colour. Thirty -second commercials were more popular than 60. It was an omen for the future. Life was becoming faster.
